I am looking into buying quality pair of headphones for portable use. I travel and weight lift a lot, which would be the primary use of the headphones. After several hours of researching and reading reviews on Head-fi I think I have narrowed down my selections to the following group:
  1. Phiaton MS300
  2. Phiaton MS400
  3. AKG Q460
  4. Klipsch Image Ones
  5. Sennheiser PX200ii
  6. Bose On-ear
The two I prefer most are in bold; however, I am looking for advice on the sound quality and durability of these headphones as I am quite new to this. My only real requirements are:
  • short cord (ideally removable since I tend to ruin my headphones by the cord)
  • fairly compact
  • sound quality (of course!)
My music library is dominated by alternative rock and 90s punk rock. I do listen to quite a bit of underground hip-hop/rap as well.
Any advice on which product to buy would be incredibly helpful and I hope that I have provided enough information to help you help me!
Thank you
