Guys, I am looking for replacement opamps for my xonar essence stx. My ATH-m50x arriving in 2 days.
Matter is that I loved the "Mega Bass" which Sony had with their walkman series ( especially w800i ). I never ever felt same bass effect again. I previously owned JVC HA-RX700 headphone. which I felt, had almost no bass.
I am not sure that replacing opamp might help me with bass. Can anyone suggest me something regarding this?

Replacing the two stock JRC-2114 op-amps in the I/V slots with LME49720 is a low cost way of improving audio quality.
The LM4652 op-amp use in the STX's buffer slot is just a relabeled LME49720, but it's not used with the headphone output anyway.

I used the AD797BR op-amps in my STX and I liked them (about $55-$60 for three op-amps)
LME49990 also seems to be well liked op-amps (about $55-$60 for three op-amps)

Personally I would have not gotten the ATH-M50X and spend the budget for the ATH-M50X and op-amps towards better headphones.

Thanks PurpleAngel for Your suggestion. But I didn't understand the last line You said

. Did You refer to M40x? I m not sure.
I don't have much idea about sound signatures with different op-amps. AD797BR is kinda out of budget for me for now.
After reading some posts on op-amp thread, I was thinking to get LME49720HA. Is it good?

I did not proof read my post before submitting it.
Corrected it to ATH-M50X

I never got the LME49720, I first tried the LME49860 (three of them), which is really just a cherry pick of the LME49720 op-amps.
