I'm considering a meta42 and I have a choice of op-amps.
AD843JN, AD8610, or AD8620. I know little about these amps and would appreciate the opnions of others.

I have ETY 4p but I will be replacing the cable to get rid of the microphonics. I may stay with the 4p cable or go to the 4s. My audio source is a SlimX. I enjoy Jazz, female vocal, classical, music.

With all that in mind, which op-amp would you choose and why.
Also, would you go with the class A option? The amp will most likely be powered with a wall wart most of the time.

Thanks
bj

The 8610 and 8620 are the same. The difference is, the 8620 is basically 2 8610s. So you need one 8620(for left and right), or 2 8610s(one for left, one for right).

I'd go for the 8610. Just because I say an opamp a channel is better in theory. That's what I'm using in my meta.

The 843, otoh, I haven't listened to. There are supporters of both. Tangent really seems to be holding out with it.

It's really up to you. Hopefully, more knowledgable people will chime in here.

IMHO the AD843 is better sounding overall than the AD-8610/20 But the 843 draws 13 Ma and the 8610 3.5 at the most and typicaly 2.7Ma. in addition the 8610 has some sonic advantages over the 843. The AD-843 has been my fav opamp for over a decade but it is getting old and is built upon the Analog devices CB process like the Dual AD-823. the CB process is a juntion isolated process and is not as good as the Dielectric isolation process the 8610/20 are built upon. Also the 843 will only swing to within about 4 volts of the Rails while the AD-8610/20 to with in 1.2 Volts Hope this helps.
