Advice needed! Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany or Ebony?

Dears,

 

I would love to know if someone has these.

Currently I have ATH-m50xBL and I love them but i feel that I grew out of them.

Gaming is my passion but listening for music is too, these days i listen mostly to EDM,Trance,House,Hip-Hop and sometimes Rock and even some classic/relaxing music.

I love to hear detailed sound with a somewhat kick in a bass.
At the moment of speaking there is a MD drop on Fostex TH-X00 Mahogany only, I am not sure if to wait or proceed with these.
There is quite a lot of reviews and I really checked out them all bu I still can't decide
Seems like the Ebony TH-X00 are clearer and better detail but less bass than Mahogany.

I feel that Ebony might suit me better and should wait for Ebony drop.
 
400$ is quite a lot and I know Ebony is 500$, I want the headphones to last for a while and not regret that I choose a wrong one.
I would love to hear some opinions from people with experience.

I'd say get the Mahogany ones while you can. The differences between the different wood cups isn't as big as you'd think. At the end of the day, all the variations of the TH-X00 are fantastic. And the Mahogany version still has incredible detail, it's just the Ebony version has a TAD bit more in comparison. Plus, the little extra bass will be excellent for gaming IMO.

Last Ebony drop never got shipped did it? Don't think you'll find a lot of people with both.
Mahogany is a solid headphone and like the man above said, differences between woods won't be that huge.

What about E-mu Teak? I heard they are even more clearer in detail..

Haven't yet bought them, but I emailed Mr.Chan from E-mu and he responded.
