I need an advice on buying headgear + amp for my g5 iPod 30g\cowon a2
I have 1000$ and 100$ for delivery (I'm from Israel)

They have to be comfy
They need to play rock the best (for that budget)
Open or in-ear
oh and 1 more thing they need to be portable (if it wasn't clear lol)

E500 + RSA Hornet + some sort of line out > mini dock should do you well in that price range. You really want to consider getting a line out since the headphone output on the ipod is quite bad.

It seems like Grado is synonymous with rock in most people's taste. Might want to look into the RS-1's or the MS-Pro's. Low enough impedance to sound good unamped, and really rock when driven with one.

I would have certainly recommended Grado as that is what I use and swear by, but for portability, Grado isn't very good unless you are only listening in quiet environments. Plus some people find them uncomfortable, and he would have to buy them used since Grado has some pretty nasty international sales policies.

I just got Westone UM2 and running various music through it. Granted that I only had it for 15 minutes >.<, it is doing very well with rock so far. (Eagles/Rush). Gonna run heavier stuff a bit later, the sound is very up front and with very good quality over the range, but not quite as a Grado, making the sound more comfortable to the ear. The quality of percussion and guitars is astounding, especially coming from something that I can have with me anywhere.
