What are the advantages of OE over IE and earphones?
You see, I want to get a pair of AKG K518's. But my mum, who is not an audiophile and has stopped listening to music on a daily basis since 1985 does not understand why I need a pair of $55 headphones. And she thinks that I will either stick to my iBuds or buy some IE earphones. However, even the cheapest Shure earphones cost $90 here. Big price difference.
Can anyone help give me some rock solid technical detail backed arguments?
