Hello everybody.

I've just finished talking (writing, actually) to Colin from Advancedmp3players.co.uk about an order I did last saturday which they kept deferred because of their shipping policy.

This is the (crazy) story: I successfully completed an order, last saturday, for an iBasso DX80 and a Cayin i5 that was available as B-Grade items (box opened). During the checkout procedure they allow to indicate a shipping address different from the card holder one (billing address), but it must be "the working address" and this is how I did. Payment was via Paypal.
They took the money from my credit card as soon as the order was accepted, saturday afternoon. The transaction was successful and all the verification statuses in the order history was good (paypal verified).

Monday morning, I had the bright idea to check for the order status again. With my surprise I read that the order was "SECGuard deferred". That means that for some reason they're holding back the order asking for more information and further controls. If the controls fail then, after 5 days, they will cancel the order.
Pity they did not even bother to notify me of the deferred order...

To solve the "SECGuard deferred" status, as per their instruction, I had to send screenshot of my paypal account home page where are shown both my addresses (billing and work). I did this the same Monday morning.
No answer from "advanced"mp3players.co.uk.
Monday afternoon I wrote an email asking for an update.
Again, no answer from them.
The day after, Tuesday, I wrote a third mail.
No answer from them. The order was still "SECGuard deferred".

The day after, Wednesday, I decided to cancel my order as, it is clear, they don't like doing business. I wrote a message to them complaining for they behaviour and missing answers, asking for an order cancellation. They answered in 14 minutes!

This is what Colin wrote (and is the funniest policy I've ever read):

"Our sales team were still reviewing the information as we do state at the checkout stage we can only dispatch to the billing address or a registered work address and the shipping address was different to the billing address given when the order was placed."

So, apart that in two days they could not compare the work address in the order with the one in the snapshot I sent them on Monday ("we were still reviewing"!), the policy is ridiculous: if you allow shipping to the billing OR the work address, than FOR SURE the shipping address CAN be different from the billing address and therefore the second part of the policy is simply absurd.

This is what I wrote to Colin, complaining for the unprofessional conduct and the craziness (and illogical) shipping policy.
Do you guess they responded?... Yeah, they did not even bother to do it... They promptly cancelled my order and refunded my paypal account.
And guess what? They even completely deleted the order history, with its illogical steps: accept the order -> verify the status of the buyer -> get the money -> defer the order because it must be "checked" (without notifying the customer).

So at the end of the story I've got the impressions that they did not want to sell the two "B-grade" DAPs, not at me at least. For sure I'm not going to buy again from them in the future (or at least try to) and I'll recommend others to do the same..

Oh, by the way, for who's interested, there is a B-grade iBasso DX80 available at (advanced)mp3players.co.uk, but you have to stay at home waiting for the courier to deliver the package...
On a side note, the b-Grade Cayin i5 never reappeared in the store. You can draw your own conclusion...

I've read a similar story here. I believe there must be something wrong with them...

PS: For the record I've have an history of hundreds of successful online transactions with tens of merchants, never ever had a problem like this before.
