Plussound and Effect audio cable.
Tried these today, love them. No love for these?
Definitely interested and would love to hear them, but they're kind of hard to come by. Closest dealer is in Switzerland.
I agree the sound is excellent, and jelt's countdown swayed me to get one. Just that the shells are larger than expected, so the fit is a slight hassle and they get less ear time. I've brought them along to work today bcos of your headpie post though. Cheers!
I got them after FFAB 1 was fully published but eventually sold them as I thought it was too much of a "specialist" kind of iem and not too suitable for general listening purpose (atleast for me). From what I remember it had a very proficient bass, good thickness in the mids, nice soundstage but at the same time a bit grainy overall with a lack of sparkle and extension up top.
Oh aye. Ever since getting a desktop system and listening to HD800 for hours on end I've become a sparkle-chaser as well.
On AAW's website I see 2 versions of the W500, one with ahmorph in the name and one without. Whats the difference between them?
Wow not at all what I heard, they were very clear, sparkly and extended to my ears.
allows you to change the signature with amorph, fixed sound without.
I see, thanks for the help, but where can I find more info about this modification? I am guessing the fixed one would be more reference sounding?
Look at a comment in Jelt's review: http://theheadphonelist.com/ciem_review/advanced-acoustic-werkes-aaw-w500-ahmorph-review-the-tell-tale-heart/

Loved the review, what a joy to read (and look at – what pretty photos!)
A quick check – I’m assuming the W500 AHMorph review was done with the power distribution knob at neutral position? I am deliberating if i should get the W500 non-AHMorph version. Is the adjustable variant worth the premium?

Yes, neutral. I like it best at that spot; a buddy prefers it as max. It’s nice to have the option, but I could live with the non-AHMorph just fine."
He seems to say, for him, no amorph is necessary.
Could you post some impressions, @Mimouille (or link to existing ones)? Thanks in advance!
I tried just for 5-10 mn. I thought it sounded very punchy, dynamic spacious, with tight bass, great soundstage, very clear mids and sparkly highs. Honestly all the best from BAs and dynamics.
Thanks! Seems to be in line with most of the other reports I read. Definitely have to seek this one out.
Thanks for your help Mimouille. I had a chance to try them and sometimes the bass felt too overwhelming. Will give them another go before deciding, but seems the bass adjustment would be nice a option, since I am not that big of a basshead.
Okay, I had almost pulled the trigger on the Sony XBA-Z5 that I could get for about 415 Euros, now I get an offer for a new W500 with about 10 % discount (€1042,- instead of 1159,- for the W500 or €1183,- instead of 1315,- for the W500 AhMorph). Impressions would be included. Could anyone please tell me what to do before I lose my mind? I'm looking for a full, thick sound signature with slightly rolled-off, smooooth treble and great, thunderous bass. Has anyone heard both? I think I have a pretty good feel for the standing of the W500 amongst other TOTL CIEMS (thanks to @jelt2359, among others), but I don't have any idea where the Sony's fit in the picture. For all I know, they might be a great bargain. I'm aware that this is almost impossible to answer, but I'm torturing myself over the question if the difference will be worth 600-700 bucks, and it's gonna be hard to audition both (I would have to order the Z5, drive three hours, compare them and return the Z5 if I like the W500 better), so I would be grateful for a nudge in any direction.
