The advance of products from Fiio (f9), Magaosi (K3), Massdrop (Plus), TFZ, KZ, etc. in the headphone space, and Cayin, Fiio, Xduoo, and Shanling in the DAP space, and Schiit trying to single-handedly rewrite the rules on the desktop, I think we can all agree that low-cost audio has come a long way very quickly. (Go back through the archives and look what your choices would have been in 2012). So, my question is with the entry point into quality sound dropping at an ever increasing pace, what now qualifies as budget and where does it start to be mainstream?

Lets start with in ear monitors,
