Has anyone tried adding a digital input to a CD player? I'd like to connect my sound card to the DAC of my CD player, since it has the best DAC I own.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so has come across any problems

can't say i have but should not be really difficult once you identify your input receiver chip,obtain the data sheet then add a break point at the receiver input.

At this break add a switch that chooses between the original input and the new input.if this new input is to be a SPDIF in,then a simple coax jack or jack/pulse transformer willbe needed.
If toslink you will need an optical receiver for the new input
