I have a pair of BX5a Deluxe from M-audio for my computer. They sound great but they are lacking in the low end so I wanted to add a sub. I have narrowed it down to two: bic h-100 and Dayton sub-100 ht.
From what I have read, the bic h-100 would have cleaner bass, but the BX5a's only have XLR or TRS/ts input and the bic I think only has speaker level out (while the dayton has RCA out which could easily be converted to 1/4 ts). I ordered a musiland monitor 02 usb DAC so I want to run RCA from that to the sub, then from the sub to the speakers. I would prefer the cleaner bass but I really don't want to add any more expensive components to connect speaker level to the BX5a's.
Any suggestions are welcome from a different sub to "none of that will work" or "return the speakers and start over." Let me know if this is the wrong place to be asking such a question. Thanks
