The pins are put in by machine under tremendous pressure and make good contact. I would not try to put solder drops on the pins as it is unnecessary and may screw up the adapter.
I've done that before also... but do not find any difference either way. I am familiar with the pressing procedure Morsel mentions, and have no doubt that the mechanical fit is probably more conductive than any solder joint. Not that adding solder would make it worse... just not better. All IMHO, of course!
