So I've acquired a X V1, and the previous owner took the headband assembly off the cups for no reason at all but in doing so I believe they messed up the yoke posts that go into the cup, or the hole in the cup. They don't seem to 'snap' in and are very flimsy feeling, and I've been very delicate with them but when I take them off my head one of the cups has popped out of the yoke clips. Luckily I was babying them so they didn't fall. They have plastic yokes, not sure if they are metal reinforced though. Either way they don't stay in the holes well enough to use these without worrying about them falling apart. I've had my hands on a pair of X2 and they are completely metal including the yoke clips that hold it onto the headband, and they feel so much more robust, hence my interest in finding a pair of metal headbands.
So my question, does anyone know anyone looking to sell their metal headband off of one of the eggshaped heaphones mentioned? (X V2, Arya, or any HE1000, possibly others) I've reached out to Hifiman trying to just buy a HE1000 headband but they seem to not be nudging in letting me buy one (which is a pity) I've told them I will not hold hifiman accountable for anything gone wrong, as they keep mentioning that they prefer not to sell to a customer in that they are not easy to replace for the end user.
I'm open to other alternatives, but I really like the headband style of these ones as opposed to the ultra tight feeling ananda on my head. so I want to stay in this style if possible.
As another possible alternative, If there is anyone on here that has a good relationship with someone over at Hifiman that could possibly line up a purchase for me I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
