Acoustune Impressions thread

Took me a while but I figured out how to wear the damn helmeted silicon tips.. just need to align it with the earphone’s curve.. The seal then is perfect, vacuum like. I had to go one size up from my usual M though.

Hope this helps someone else!

20220709_173206.jpgFinally got it today, now I just have to 'burn in' 3 item at 1 shot - wm1am2, ars153 cable and 1790ti.

Initial hearing - yes definitely sound way more musical than my holocene BA iem. Had the bass/sub bass rumble of ie600 but way more soundstage.

IEM and cable as a set cost almost 50% more than ie600, but no regret.
Great combination

That's the correct alignment of the tips. As you say the seal is perfect.

How are you finding the Sho amongst your collection? Surprisingly I think I prefer the ACT01 to 02.. Just bought them today tho so none are burnt in. How many hours should I go for? I have 200h to go on 3.5mm on my golden brick, need some time share~

I don't have much time with them yet. The ACT02 has a warmer sound signature but without sacrificing the detail retrieval. I think it's excellent for a single DD driver. Surprisingly I think the ACT01 has a punchier bass but it's too early to make any assessments. The build quality of this set is second to none. Amazing, like the parent company Madoo. No idea if Acoustune will sell the ACT03 separately, it looks interesting.

Yeah it's like having 2 different IEMs~ loving the build and sound impressions. Just feel a more significant strain with ACT02 (heavier) on the ears compared to 01. ACT03 looks interesting but I'm not too sure how the wood would hold up to moisture from our ears over time. Feels like the effect would be more than headphones...

I shall burn in 100hrs each and have a listen again, and vs IE900!

*Edit* I can't stop listening to the ACT01! Vocals are perfect along with sufficiently present bass and good soundstaging. Giving me serious powered up IE900 vibes! ACT02 feels too syrupy to me and perhaps too much bass bleed into the mids? Will need to revisit after burning in...

I think it is a great set because being a single DD it offers a coherent sound between all frequencies. The design is very clever and gives you the chance to change the sound signature. Also it sounds natural to my ears.

I was a bit upset for lacking bass impact but wearing the stock tips with the right angle it provides a punchy upper bass. The treble is sparkly too.

The ACT02 is a bit heavier but presents you with a fun analog sound. Both chambers doesn't have a big soundstage but it is very lively.

If you're using the golden brick with ACT02, probably it's to warm. A neutral source is better suited for this chamber.

I saw from acoustune tweeter japan that the longer flange is suppose to be upright, personally I and using it with the longer flange at 2 o'clock position.

Got the xs size and I think it's way too small to get a proper fit, so have to buy again .. 🙃

Didn't manage to get a good sealing on aex50 no matter how I tried with a few sizes. I think the flange design may not be suitable for me, I give up on it. Though the soundstage and treble increase, it seem to loose bass quite a bit.

I end up getting spinfit 145 and it perfectly seal up in my ear with the same soundstage and no bass lost. It also perform better than the aex07 (which music sound a bit cramp) that come with 1790ti.

I am very surprise cp145 able to do a good seal, with good soundstage and bass. Spinfit is able to block out the external sound way much better than both aex07 and aex50.

Just sharing.

I switched to AEX07 as AEX50 was causing pain after an hour. Had thought the pain was from the weight of the Sho+ACT02 but now realise its the AEX50 that's the culprit.

I am the direct opposite, aex07 very tight and uncomfortable for me, yet didn't block out surrounding sound better than cp145. Didn't last 30min wearingthem.

Aex50 very comfortable but just losing out the bass and subbass. But it's good to use at night in room when everything is quiet, the soundstage is very good.

After playing ar few type of tips, I can see why it plays a important role. It really change a iem sound.

Btw can it seem acoustune iem is open design, sound leak out from the chamber when I play loud?
