It is too much. According to Acoustune, the new composite Myrinx driver was extremely difficult to produce by mass number.
Surely it'll trickle down to more realistic prices on lower models after its release...

Yeah, I'd say the price to performance ratio of the 1697 is pretty great, it performs better than some single DDs above $1000.

@ 1670's level, i'm enjoying true holographic imaging, organic mids, detailed treble, great bass & huge sound field.
It's a bang for the premium buck and I'm quite sure resolution better on the '97.
Dynamic drivers are easy to live with, @ least for my set. Not complicated...

Hello, I'm totally new to Acoustune. How is the comfort on these and isolation. I have relatively small ears if that's a problem.

Also, how does the 1695 (or 1697 if anyone has it) compare in terms of technical detail with IEMs I might actually know😂 like the Andromeda or Dunu

The metal shells are really small, that bigger ears might complain the opposite, i.e. poor isolation.
I use L ear tips to solve that...

Do you reckon it can (1697) can compete with the TOTL DD iems such as the Dunu Luna or A8000, as that is what I'm looking for

Short answer, Yes.
Final a8000 usd.1,999 Review
Dunu Luna usd.1,699 vs a8000
HS2000MX usd.1,711 - coming soon, new Acoustune Flagship
1697ti usd.919
Look @ the price, the lowest Flagship TOTL cost of admission

How my 1670 present its holographic imaging. The '97 is slightly larger still
according to a fellow headfier...

I have a home hi-fi cum desktop setup. I'm used to enormous staging.
Excellent Bass, Coherence, Organic mids, detailed top end.
High Level of engagement, opposite to laid back.
Cons: if sensitive to sibilance, bad recordings will reveal...

Might wait for the HS2000MX then

Do you know when it might be released? I understand there is a prototype out

Very Good decision
a8k is bright, Luna less bright, we are looking for something Z1R treble* in particular...
*this is an end game treble for my ears
cons: a 50Ωload!, thin mids, smaller sound field...

I'm just in between the Luna and A8000 in terms of sound (plus the A8000 is slightly out of my reach right now) I as looking at the Z1R for a bit, but the mids are not for me, plus they are physically massive

That's not a con really...

Thank you! They're just an honest pair, that's all
i don't have a lot of those albums.
The badly remastered Echo & the Bunnymen "Killing Moon all night version" a unicorn track (Rhino cd) until recently got from a local Dig shop, i just re-processed in Audacity...
