Various sources told me the release date for US market should be August, early September and since there is no thread for it I thought I make one.

This looks very promising, excellent pricing and I am curious if they class A amplification can be as good as Calyx M which to me is the only DAP that has an excellent inbuilt amplifier second to none.

Just tried in Hong Kong AV show. I just tried the 3.5mm output and the sound quality is fine. I believe the 4.4mm is the main dish here, as I believe it would be cheapest 4.4mm balanced output DAP on the market (even include upcoming ZX300). The Ui works, not something fantastic. And the screen, let's say it helps you focus on the music itself. It is very light tho and the size is good. The build quality is decent, the buttons feel solid and it is not that hot (I guess).

Only 8GB of internal storage and a single micro SD slot.

Sorry AR, not good enough.

10 hour battery life is pretty mediocre too.

Saw a review video from HK.

Its has a aptX HD streaming function that can stream songs from your phone to play on the player.

Interesting function.

Thanks for your interest and feedback on the preliminary specs for the M200. AR HiFi designed the M200 to bring advanced DAP performance to an affordable price point. While we won't compare it to other, more expensive products until it is out in the market, we are confident that it will successfully compete with the most popular models at any price, let alone those that also cost $399.

Through economies of scale and an unshakable commitment to simply getting it right, we were able to maintain the price while including benefits associated with more expensive models. The cited battery life is on a par with industry standards, as are the on-board 32GB of memory and micro SD expansion slot for up to an additional 256GB of storage space. There is even bi-directional Bluetooth AptX HD streaming for high quality streaming to/from wireless devices.

We are confident that the M200 will be a hit, and look forward to your follow-up comment should you buy one.

Do you know if it will ever release in Australia?
That's a good question. Although it will not be available in Australia when it first ships, we hope to have an arrangement sometime in early '18.

4990 still??? Would it be possible to explain why the DAC is not upgraded to the latest 4997(or 4995)?

One slot, is not preferable imo.

That class A amp is yummy, and 4.4mm jack is also awesome, all at $399....wifi streaming for Tidal and or Spotify would have been nice. Does the Bluetooth option allow the device to work as external wireless DAC for a smartphone, or is the Bluetooth connection sort of like hiby link?
