What do you guys use in order to protect your equipment from AC ups and downs. I live in an area that AC isnt very stable so i need something in order to protect my equipment.

I highly recommend APC equipment. In all my experience with those, they always worked as intended.

i thought UPS had square wave output and that was bad?

I didn't even mention UPS (APC makes other power products, too!) and the good UPSes output sine waves. But the cheap ones do output square waves which could cause interference, although I have never encountered a problem like that.
