Has anyone compared these two headphones? I have been a fan of Audeze headphones since 2010 with LCD2.1 to LCD4 currently. I recently purchased a pair of Phi TC Headphones and find that I am not that itchy for the LCD5’s. I find that the 1266 PHI TC headphones are good to the point where I don’t feel anything is missing. I will wait further reviews on the LCD5’s but I feel satisfied with the Abyss headphones. Opinions on how these two headphones compare would be interesting.

It will probably be a bit for a direct comparison, as the LCD-5's have just now started to ship out to the first buyers.

I would only think if you didn't keep the TC you would miss the bass. The LCD 5 maybe the resolution king but it might require eq to become colorful. Currawong in his review that it sounds ruler flat so no bloom in the bass or brightness in the treble. So if you need some V-shape may not excite you like the 1266. I could do ruler flat if I had nice eq to boost up bass and treble. Who am I kidding I'll end up with them at some point.

More like whichever is on my head is #1 and the rest are all tied. Seriously, they are all spectacular and so very hard to rank. But IMO, the best on my head to date!

If the LCD-5 is being related to the HD650 in early reviews, see this time marker:

Then, I'm guessing you are safe with the 1266. Just my .02

To be fair many very respected audiophiles would choose a black silk HD650 over an Abyss TC.

Personally I don't mind comparing 200 to 5k dollar headphones, nor do I mind comparing closed vs open to each other.... However, the TC is so different in its construction and function that there is no way the LCD5 comparison is going to be any different than comparing the lcd4 or susvara to the TC, IMO.

Honestly. Asking for a comparison is a failed agenda to begin with cause no two ears are the same. I’m also not sure why everyone gets so huffy about comparing. lol

Has a direct comparison between the LCD5’s and the Abyss 1266 Phi TC’s been made? I am hesitant to purchase the LCD5’s as I have and been enjoying the LCD4 headphones but in honesty I find the Abyss 1266 Phi TC’s to be so much better than any of my other headphones that I don’t want to purchase the LCD5’s and be disappointed. I find that the Phi TC’s are amazing. They blow away my LCD4 headphones and the LCD4 headphones are no slouches. The Phi TC’s don’t leave me wanting for more. I occasionally listen to the 4’s but quickly go back to the TC’s.

Yes 1266 TC gives hard hitting bass that sounds bigger then TH900 bass but different presentation. The TH900 gives Dynamics growl and 1266 resonates to extreme headphone levels.

LCD4 found not to resonate and thin when compared to TH900 and 1266. LCD 4 not for a bass head without eq.
