Hello everyone:
Well, I must confess I've out of the forum since last year, but that because studying history just works for 2 things:
1)reading your @ss off
2)watching my girl classmates (we are 15; 13 are beautiful girls :P) cry for their tests :P
And now that I have more time for myself, I've decided to spend a little cash for my car and for my pictures.
The thing is that I have 650-700 dollars to spend on a new radio for my car and a new digital camera, but since I don't know much about that kind of stuff, I would like you guys to recommend myself some toys

What i'm looking for in my radio is to play mp3 and to sound good. Half of all my music collection comes in mp3, so I really need good audio; and what I'm looking for in a camera is to take good pictures and to have a relative good zoom and maybe (just maybe) a manual shooter speed controller, so I can take nice art-like pictures

What do you guys say?
I only have like 5 days to decide since my sister that's studying in the states is coming back, and I want to ask her for the things A.S.A.P.
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!

Its hard to find a digital camera with full manual if you arnt going to spend a bit... probably the best cheapest solution IMO is a Canon A80... Although I'd step up to a G3/G5 if I had the money, but that'll eat most of your budget meaning not much left for the deck (which I know nothing about). The Nikon Coolpix series are not too bad either - they have great macro lenses, and some (all?) have manual features on them as well. Check http://www.dpreview.com and http://www.steves-digicams.com/ for more info on digicams. Hopefully that'll help you get started.

They're actually saying (all the review sites) that the Canon G5 is not a good deal and that you're better off trying to find a Canon G2. The image quality is supposedly the same or nearly indescipherable. The G5 goes for around $600. You can still find new G2 for around $425. If you're really on a tight budget, that $175 might mean alot and, like I say, the image quality is the same.

Can't help you with the car stereo. I haven't done that in a long time.

Can't help you out with the car stereo, but my advice would be to save your money for a better digital camera. I have the Canon EOS 300D (Digital Rebel) which I purchased with the 18-55mm lens (it's the kit; body & lens) for about $900 US. It's worth every penny.

If you aren't crazy about Canon, the Nikon D70 is in the same class (although I wish I waited and got this instead of the Canon because I already have a couple of Nikon lenses) and around the same price. These two cameras are by far the best/cheapest way to get into Digital SLR. Save your money and get what you really want
