Oh dear, my Bel Canto DAC2 has developed a fault - after about 10 minutes, the output starts to flake out. If I unplug it for a while it seems to work fine but will shortly start to distort again. This is with the coax input.

Have tested two sources and get the same problem. I know it's the DAC2 as the sources work fine with another DAC.

I got the unit second-hand so I don't have a warranty

Any help anyone?

I'd contact Bel Canto. There is a number on their website, I think. I found them to be very helpful with some questions I had. Maybe they have a quick fix or can give you an estimate of what it might cost to fix. They seem to be a pretty customer service oriented.

I opened her up tonight and had a peek. Couldn't see any obvious problems, apart from the flying ground lead from the PSU looked a bit loose, so I tightened it up real good and put everything back together. It's been a couple of hours and everything is working again - touch wood and hallelujah!
