A1000 - costs a lot more than the A900 (more than $300 versus ~$200 for the A900) but from what I hear doesn't improve on the sound as much. has a ball-bearing based cup swivel that is prone to breaking. (almost all the floor demos of this I've seen in japan has cracks or a major part of the plastic around the swivel missing.) limited run of 3000 cans.

W1000 - one of audio-technica's newest wooden cup cans. currently the only full-sized wood headphone they make that is standard (non limited edition) production. I prefer the sound of the other AT woodies to this... don't like its emphasis on the mids.

L3000 - their latest wooden cup headphone, also their most expensive to date (from around $2000 to around $2500 depending on where you get it...) covered in Connolly Leather and a limited run of 500 headphones. one of the most favorite cans that I have.

do a search on the forum and you can find a lot of threads on these. some are even featured in the headphone review section.

I have W1000 and while initially a bit dissapointed with it I now find with some hours on it its starting to sound very good. The highs which were a bit harsh on some recordings seem to be smoothing out and the bass is much better.
I like it alot with vinyl replay where the harshness of some cd recordings doesn't affect it.
At the start it sometimes had a slightly closed in sound on some recordings, perhaps because of the closed design. This also seems to have dissapeared.
They work well through a head amp or tried them straight out the computer with a standard sound card and they work just fine. The bass on some of my sons hip hop/rap recordings was way down in the basement but well controlled.
They wont be everyones cup of tea and seem to have lost favour in this forum of late but i'll be hanging into mine. The finish puts my RS1s to shame.
