Nothing does not exist in this universe.

Also, you are misunderstanding the concept of the word. True nothing, in the most basic definition, means there are no "things". It does not imply that there was a thing. Remember that we can only try and describe "nothing" with something, but a true nothingness you would not be able to name, describe, talk about, or even comprehend.

Nothing can't exist.
