Anyone else keep around a set of bad earbuds/headphones to listen to horrible sounding files (highly compressed mp3's, etc.)? My iPod earplugs are the only way a few of my files (old 128kps, some audio books, etc.) approach listenable.

128k? You must have downloaded that.

Personally, I'd rather download a virus. But that's just me.

Of course, I'm j/k about the virus thing.

Yeah, just have a few things that aren't replaceable- don't have source, CD's aren't made, a few local bands, girl singing in Bali, from cassette audio books, etc. Curious if others are in this situation.

I used to use Sony V6s but it's not even connected anymore. I just deal with it on my K1000s now. If I want to drop a bit of detail, I just use my speakers.

i have a pair of coby streetstyle, that even when i turn up the bass max with my iriver's eq, i still hear no bass. i would say depending on what type of 128k. 128k joint stereo VBR isnt so bad, 128k ogg is even better.
