I met some of these "spacemen are our saviors" people in person in LA (at a book sale). Poor slumps. They seemed so desperate to get people to listen to them and make friends. The guy I talked to had the classic, ex-druggie washed out and in search of something else look. A bit short of a full deck. Well, as my hero John Lenon said: "Whatever gets you through the night...."
