Sometimes when not is use for a few days,I unplug the astrodyne PSU of the ultra micro amp/dac from the AC socket. but I am afraid that i am doing it all wrong.
I keep the IEC cable always plugged in to the AC socket and only unplugged the part of the cable that connects to the astrodyne itseld.
when i do that, I get electrical sparkles and I am afraid that it might be damaging the PSU (or maybe worse...the amp, because it is always connected to the PSU).

Is this ok? should I plug/unplug the IEC cable directly from the AC socket instead?
I am sorry if I didn't put the question correctly, my english is so so, hope you can understand.
thanks.

Hm.

Well, switching power supplies don't do particularly well when they start to drive a load. I think it would be better to unplug the AC, that way when you plug it in it will go through it's normal cycle when firing up.
