A Questionnaire About Use Scenarios of FiiO Q1MKII/Q3

I find it strange it asked for only a single selection for the first question. "How do you use a USB Amp/DAC". I use it very regularly for both Android AND Laptop, but use a Jotenhiem for my PC.

Simple List:
Balanced out
Internal battery
Dual Type-C (One for powering and/or signal, with the other being ONLY signal to not use power from what ever device you are using). Alternatively a switch you can turn of the supply of power to the Dac/amp. Or even a 3-way switch 1: Normal charge/signal 2: Signal only, uses the internal battery to run the cans, and 3: Disconnect the internal battery and only run from the power of the type-c to save wear on the internal battery.
Bluetooth for when I watch movies on my couch

Basically a BTR3k or BTR5 with dual type-cs, or an EarMen Colibri with Bluetooth. Doesn't even NEED crazy specs. Heck even just a BTR1k with dual Type-Cs

I'd have bought Colibri if it'd had bluetooth LDAC support. Missed opportunity IMO.

I recently bought a Q3 and there are four things that bug me.

1. It should have Bluetooth
2. The volume knob should increase/decrease volume a lot slower, since bumping it instantly increases loudness to high.
3. Low/high gain should be a switch too.
4. If it had MagSafe on the back, you could snap it to the back of an iPhone without rubber bands. I glued a magnet on the back and it now snaps to my iPhone.

Lastly the bass switch is really not necessary as it changes the overall tonality in an unpleasant way. But that’s preference.

Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback.
And maybe you could consider the BTR5 2021 instead of the Q3. The bass option is very important to some users still.

Best regards

Dear FiiO Team,

Bluetooth is not my primary input, it should just be there in case my battery gets empty or I can’t use a wire for some reason. The BTR5 also lacks the 4.4mm output that I need for my IE600.
Lastly the battery capacity of the BTR5 is to small for me.

Another criteria for the Q3 vs the BTR5 is the all aluminium construction. I get that the glass of the BTR5 helps signal strength, but it requires me to put it in a case for protection.

I owned a BTR5 original edition for approximately two years and just switched to the Q3. Using the BTR5 with a 2.5 to 4.4mm adapter in a 3D printed case that I made myself was just as big as the Q3, so the Q3 was the obvious choice for me.
