A not too expensive amp upgrade for the L3000's?

I have a Gilmore Lite which is pretty darn good with the L3000's, and a great bang for the buck. But i can't help but wonder what other amps are out there that mate well with them. I don't have too much experience with the more expensive amps out there..the highest amps ive had so far were the PPA, and my Gilmore Lite. I haven't been to any meets so far.

I don't plan on upgrading right this moment, but would anybody recommend an amp that isn't too expensive that would really go well with the L3000's? Something that would be a noticable difference from the Gilmore Lite, and synergizes well with them. I would be looking to spend no more than around $500 at most..so i guess my options are limited, but there should still be some good ones out there.

Thanks.

I'd probably put my money into the upgraded power supply if I were you. I don't think you'll find anything astoundingly better in your price range, although tubes are a possibility. Personally I like solid state with the L3000's but your tastes may vary...

Same here.

PS: Sorry, I can't help much on the amp issue.

been a while since I've used a Lite, but I think it's a pretty good low-cost choice for the L3000.
