The Stone like all Zen players (except maybe the new Zen?) has pretty subpar sound quality. I guess it depends if you want a screen or not when you go out jogging, as some people want to change music quickly while on the go, and some who want to just play through their entire mp3 list during their run.

Screw it I'm selling my 4th gen ipod for that . I hate even having a wallet or money in my pocket. Hopefully I don't regret it .

Sony a818 has excellent sq and it's pretty much the size of a nano. It's a flash player so it will be good for running, but what makes it great is that it's drag and drop, high res for vids and excellent sq.

But if you want to go cheap....the 1st gen shuffle has excellent sq.

something cheap with 1-2gb you dont mind dropping on the floor,

sony NWD-B100 series, the 1gb or 2gb should be under $100, it has drag and drop, radio, recorder, and its a sony, so it probobly has above decent sound quality, and you wont want to kill yourself if you lose or break it,

no moving parts, easy to operate without looking it at, small, and cheap, what else do you want ?

highly recommend the clip. get the 2gb and if you use it for mainly active use/gym etc, fill it up with 64kbps WMA which may not be that bad for active listening... so now you can fill up with close a 1000 songs and never have to worry filling it up again...
