Hey guys,
I've been learning some about programming, and I'm amazed by the fact that binary code makes up everything! Does anyone know of a program that can decode different file types into binary? I'm interested in seeing some different stuff in its most basic form. Weird? Yes. But if you know of anything, please don't hesitate!

Cheers!

All the files are binary by their very nature, no decoding is needed.

If you mean how to visualize that, try using a hex editor. But that is not very interesting IMHO unless you are debugging something.

Everything isn't binary code. In fact, there's a trend away from it (only for some uses, of course).

Anyway, this probably isn't what you wanted but there are indeed programs that decode into binary. Most of them decode binary into binary which isn't very interesting I assume but there are a few that decode text into binary... uudecode is a very common one and it decodes different file types (2 to be precise) so there's an answer for you.
Anyone can top me?

Oh, and there are other uses for hex editors than debugging and reverse-engineering. There's a lot of data that's in binary form unfortunately...
