hi all,

perhaps there should be a headphones contest, just like the euro-song-festival contest where you can give points to the headphones you are thinking that are the best, even you've never heard them..
yes, i know..that's not full proof..but after reading those threads for 1,5 years..i could made my own top 10

to me..
1: HE90
2: stax omega
3: he 60 (best bang for the buck)
4: mdr-r10
5: ps-1

etc...

so for the he90 you can give 12 points, the stax 10 points, etc...
how can you make such a poll??

yes, i know, there is a problem for all those persons who are watching this site for the first time, they all want to have the he90, because those have the highest points.
perhaps there should be a line..."for further information, see all the threads".

but perhaps it's a funny thing to see, the points behind the headphones.

there will be some reactions against the poll, saying "that poll has no value".
i think it's nice to have an overview, even if it isn't complete..it's just a sketch, no need for details, yet..

well, then everyone will just vote for one that has the highest reputation, probably the Orpheus, even if they never have heard it.....

then the poll isn;t for the best headphones, but rather, phone that has the most popularity and fame.

well, yes..perhaps it doesn't give the right information. but people have a start/overview about the most popular headhones and can search for further information about that particular headphones in those 1000's of threads.

that's a good idea, but it's taking too much time.

i think it's good to have a sketch first, you can later find the details. In such an overview, with each headphones a number of points, is enough to start with.
when you add soo many details, beginners don't want that, it's too complex. it takes months before knowing this information. this kind of overview will be a good thing for people who are more experienced.

True and the entire idea of which headphone is "best" is so subjective as to make the whole issue a moot point. What sounds best to one person in a particular system may not appeal to another individual with different tastes.

If someone(Commando) wants to put together a headphone database with specs, features and something like a customer satisfaction rating, that's outstanding but the whole idea of which is "best" seems like a futile quest IMO.

it's a sketch..i don't want to have the ultimate answer, actually i wished to have the ultimate answer and yes,i'm going for it......after reading those threads..i'm going for the he90...if you like it or not..

but before we are going to clinch..and getting too serious about it...
what's the problem with such a poll/sketch...if commando wants the ultimate comparison..well, i would love to read his thread..but why not an informal one..i don't see the problem of that.

btw, all information you've ever red is subjective....
