A headphone tribute goodbye to Tyll from Innerfidelity
May 14, 2018 at 1:59 PM Post #61 of 306
Thank you Tyll for all you've done for the community. I've always enjoyed reading your reviews (and watching the videos) and have purchased quite a few headphones because of them.

I'm going to be "that guy" for a second and say you should definitely stop by Cincinnati when we have a meet; that is, if you ever decide to road trip all the way out here to the midwest. We had one last October which had a pretty impressive turnout, including Jude. I expect there will be more meets in the future...

I do hope you post some videos of your adventures on a personal channel. I know you said no more from InnerFidelity but I'm sure quite a few of us would still like to see where you end up going during your retirement. That being said, hopefully retirement is everything you hope for and more. Living in a tiny house is sure to be quite the change.

I'm also excited to see where InnerFidelity goes in the future and look forward to the new editor/reviewer.

Finally, I just want to say thanks again for sharing your thoughts and knowledge with the community and helping it grow into what it has become today. You will be dearly missed.

This way you’re retiring, Tyll…it’s pure 100% you. May the road ahead be kind and generous to you (and Putt).

Thank you for everything, Mr. Hertsens.

You're welcome, Jude, and thank you for the lovely words.

You guys will get a kick out of this...

See you guys down the road. I will try to make a few meets here and there!

I can recall at least four times when he made it to one of our meets, more often than not in one of his trademark Hawaiian shirts.

No, I ALWAYS wear Hawaiian shirts. Didn't I stop by your house...or maybe you had a meet at your house? Anyway, thanks, Tom, it has been a fun ride.

Never knew the man or had any correspondence but I always loved his reviews. He was one of the ones who's opinions helped me make decisions when purchasing as I felt his views were accurate and most of all unbiased.
Good luck on the rd.

We are unable to allow you to retire without your favorite set of headphones. Your Focal Clear is on it’s way to join you in your retirement adventures. Good luck and have fun! The Clear is a gift from us to you for your many years of contributing to the HeadGear community.

Very cool.

Were all gonna miss you, Tyll.

I really hope you still show up at a meet or two down the road.

See ya then!

Oh, and by the way, just so people can feel all is right in the world, Jason Lord at The Source AV saw the thread here and gave me a call:

"Hi Tyll, exciting times, eh?"

"Yeah man, I hardly know what to do with myself."

"I hear you're not bringing Clears with you."

"Nah, just don't want to drop the dime. I'm good with what I've got" (Solo3, QC35, AFO, AFC)

"But you'd like to have Clears with you?"

"Oh yeah, sure, they're awesome."

"All righty, brother, they're on the way."

"Aww, man...really?"

"Dude, you deserve it. No problemo."

"Thanks, Jason. Really, thanks."

Really, thanks, Jason.

Edit: D'oh! Jason snuck in as I was typing!

Thanks, man!

@Tyll Hertsens

You may not remember me, but I sure remember you from your Chicago stop on the World of Headphones tour. I wish you good luck in your travels and hope you keep us in the loop on your adventures. If you're ever in the DC area and want to take a break from the road, send me a message.
