i am thinking of connect my HD650 to a headphone amp

and i am planning to use the line out of the cheap Chaintech AV-710

i get some suggestion of expensive amps like

1) Meier HA1 MKII ($299)
2) Gilmore Lite ($299)
3) Creek OBH-21 ($250)

but on ebay there is alot of amp called Custom cmoy sold for around $50

http://cgi.ebay.com/Micro-Cmoy-headp...QQcmdZViewItem

what are the quality different between the expensive ones and cheap cmoy ones?

thanks

You very well should!

I'm using the Creek OBH-21 (with an upgraded regulated PSU) and I find it works very nicely with all my headphones. I have not heard the other amps mentioned though I personally have absolutely no complaints against the Creek either.

p.s. Just had to say this as Creek tends to be despised on this forum (for their older OBH-11 models, which are very different to the OBH-21) and I won't be surprised to see most members not recommending the Creek.

You cant go wrong with a Gilmore Lite if you like the SS sound.

Another good option would be a M3. The ability to roll opamps to a sound more to your liking.
