7Hz Impressions & Discussion

I spent the entire day comparing the Timeless and the Aryas back to back. I was amazed at the results. I can't imagine how a single tiny DD IEM can possibly compete. But it does.

Correct. Funny thing is that I actually meant single driver rather than the hybrids I've been listening to lately. That's what I get for drinking and posting. Lol.

If you are referring to Moondrop Aria then it's fair as its only $80 compared to Timeless $199~

No way. I love the Aria but it's not even fit to hold the Timeless's jock. Totally different leagues. Even at only around $200, the Timeless is so far above the Aria it's not even funny.

What he meant is the Hifiman Arya.

I bought a pair of Timeless to see what they are like. Really looking forward to hearing them : )

The outer diameter of the round faceplate is 21mm (7/8 of inch) and the inner countour of the shell fits perfectly in the bowl of the ear with no rub or irriation. I've got medium ears, take medium tips and these fit perfectly into my ear. on the back side of the shell, the faceplate and shell mirror each other. The outer portion of the faceplate remains round but extends 2mm (3/16 of inch) beyond the contured inside of shell and makes no contact with my ear. they may look unconventional but they fit (me) like a glove.
Thanks very much taking the time to provide a detailed response. Really helps!

I agree, 7Hz Timeless is the real deal. I got it connected to Sony WM1Z, Alo Audio Gold 16 iem cable and Azla Xelastec. The subbass is deepest I’ve heard, dig extremely deep. Vocals smooth, silky, extremely lifelike. Clarity top notch, layering is extremely good. First time I hear everything very clearly in the background. Treble extended. If there’s any complaints, maybe soundstage feels average, a bit small, feels like in head. Holographic, yes, not too much, it’s limited within that medium to smaller sphere. I did experience imbalance sound first time I hear it, I think it was the cable that was supplied. Timeless is really good, irrespective of price. I’ve listened to VE 8, VE Elysium, Homunculus, FiR M5, Noble Sultan etc. I really like and very impressed with Timeless, burning about 50 hours, looking for better performance at 300 hours

Drop just emailed me to tell me their Timeless drop was delayed. Damn you, Covid-related supply chain delays!

Tell me about it...
It's the same story with me. I literally had to force myself to take my RAH ciem out of the case and back into my ear. Timeless has been my goto ever since arriving. Anyone still sitting on the fence; I'm not into FOTM or Hype trains. I bought them early simply because of the Planar Size and the price which made them worth a roll of the dice. These are the real deal.... and the price you're paying is not in anyway a reflection of the outstanding performance, tonality & timbre you're going to get out of them. The price is a reflection of the Astronomical Margins in the Audio Industry, and a manufacturer who isnt playing the massive markup game. I'm listening to my RAH right now which is a Planar Trybrid and the Timeless with that single 14.2mm Planar in there gives these babies a run for their money across the board.

I see you've got the Xelento in your signature. How do they compare to the timeless?

I've been meaning to get some for ages and was actively trying to get a second hand set when the timeless popped onto my radar and I ended up ordering them.

Sound aside, one of the reasons I wanted xelentos was the form factor and ability to use them easily with a pillow. Can the Timeless do that?

Surprisingly the timeless was very comfortable when my head was resting on a pillow. I think the large outer circular shape prevented the whole IEM getting pushing in too far. Worked quite (surprisingly) well with my ears. Ymmv.

I would buy them again if QC was up to scratch and the drivers were matched. Otherwise ChiFi IEM's are long gone off my radar.

Has anyone ordered these from Linsoul? - Ordered 10 days ago and only after emailing they responded saying they had plenty in stock and they would be sent out 'sequentially' Nothing written about this so called sequential shipping on the website ):
Next day (5 days after ordering) I get a tracking number but comes up with 'has not been shipped yet'
Maybe the number is wrong but I still very much remember the lies and fake tracking after ordering the BGVP
In recent times Ive been receiving items from China in 6-10 days max

They probably just had a big influx of orders. I ordered from them about 12 days ago and they got here (US) in about a week. Their support ppl are very responsive on their facebook messenger account if you wanted to give that a shot.

In my experience ordering from Linsoul has been pretty slow, I recently received a few items after a good 3 weeks from ordering. It depends on the destination country's customs also. My order was stuck in customs somewhere in HK for more than a week.
