Hey everyone. Planning to make my own balanced headphone cables for my THX 789 amp. Curious of what would be the ideal length and wire gauge I should use for the best resistance with the amp+6XX. Also any thoughts you have on connector brands as well as wire brands would be nice too. Don't judge me for being kinda ocd. I know it may not make any sq changes but figured I might as well have this in mind.

Hi, i have built many balanced cables for my headphones using Canare L-4E6S . The ideal length is 7 feet, there are many articles and websites that have lots of information DIY and this Webpage is excellent and very helpful: http://robrobinette.com/BalancedCable.htm You need to have a multi meter, i sourced my Neutrik connectors, cable sleeve, cable from Makertek, Amazon and Performance Audio. Hopefully, this will help you a little bit. It is not that hard to build them, just tedious .

22-24awg is a good gauge for full-sized headphones. Depending on how long you sit from the amp, personally I just make a short 4-5ft cable for my HD650.
