634EARS: Impressions, Discussions, and Appreciations Thread

Almost had no time lately for LOAK2-TX02, I have way to many IEM reviews to get done. Listened some more last day and its still within my desert island pick 3 IEMs and leave, love how it have mixed the musical side while still being technical. Probably the best bass performance I have heard from a single DD, also with as impressive midrange that's both lovely for instruments and vocals. Highs are also clear and extended without any harsh peaks standing out.

Had to snag a photo for the occasion, photogenic IEM

The way how amazing sounding the LOAK2 Ti (OP) is already brainmelting, I can't imagine how good its flagship version.

Azla Vivid sound the best and are the most fun, we are lemon lime theme today.

Been debating taking the coloring off of these for more cable pairing aesthetic options, is that a sin 🫣

LOAK2-Ti is just so good.

Do you mean changing the ear-tips or the cable?

There's Ocean Blue for the Vivids, or Alza Origin, Alza Light Short, those are blueish.

Reterminated the ISM Solar to Con-X. It matches so well with the Loak-BSB on the new Divinus Velvet wide bore tips and iBasso DC Elite

What is up y'all.

Just reviewed the 634Ears LOAK2-Ti, please check it out here - https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/634ears-loak2-ti-cl.27508/review/35334

In this review i compare it to 4 IEMs across a variety of price ranges for you to with that information as you will.

a 5 star IEM and I think everyone should look into getting one of these and stop messing with the chase for awhile. :)

Hope you enjoy, been awhile since I reviewed something. Rough summer! But we move on.
Cross post from discovery, check out my 5 star review for the LOAK2-Ti if you like. Cheers.

And no, I meant wiping off the blue paint and letting the copper under shine! We will see, it stays for now lol.

Got to try the LOAK 2 Ti open and closed when I went down to collect the 634ears 4.4 cable.

While I can see people liking it the lower mids on both are too wet for my tastes coming from the stainless steel. That being said surprisingly I prefer the closed over the open due to the highs being more controlled but still keeping the funish sound on both open and closed.

Just so that there is no confusion, you are using the term wet as the below extract does?

Wood has that tendency I guess. I have the lower tier Miroak2 wood and the Sivga Nightingale wood encased that are wet. Though nightingale does provide push through great air.

I seem to like both presentations -wet and dry from a couple other iems but yeah tend to use it for different genres.

Edit: occasionally I use the Pentaconn coreir aluminum alloy earttips on the woody Miroak2 and it lessens that wetness a tad and pushes out more treble energy , a pleasing result without losing too much of its inherent SQ

Sorry for the late reply. While my definition for wetess is the level of which the enclosure abrorbs the energy and re emmits it at a slightly different time at the same or slightly lower frequency at reduced energy levels.

In practice like in LOAK2 Ti there is slightly noticeable reverby but there is so much "noise" that is starting to get smearly but in a pleasing way to me.

That being said I much prefer the clean dry and thin(?) sound of the LOAK 2 open stainless steel due to listening to quite abit of electronic music.

As usual at the end of the day it's give and take as with everything with this obsession of ours.

Also it really depends on the wood like Musashi San says. Generally harder woods have sharper more defined transients but the peak shape can vary quite abit. But in general wood tends towards soft to blunted attack tip.

Just curous how many of you here use 634ears iems with desktop gear. Im currently running a Fiio K9 pro AKM into a Audio technica BHA100 tube amp and its really crazy in terms of soundstage, resolution and saperation and not something a portable dap/amp can provide.
I don't use it with a desktop amp, but have the a few high current headphone amps that I use occasionally. 634ear iems love current. Something like 1 watt outwards, the staging goes beyond the headspace.
