I've been browsing the forums and i would like some recommendations on a set of headphones and an amp. no supra-aural please

I listen to mostly alternative, rock, and acoustical.
I need the amp to be portable
Needs to have bass (not a bass head but want a full bodied sound)
Needs to be comfortable for many hours.

any recommendations would be helpful

What's your source?

Right off the bat I would say...

Possibly something like a GoVibe and an Alessandro MS-2i if you're going to be listening in quiet areas where you're not going to disturb anyone.

If you're not going to use this at home at all and you're open to IEMs I would say either the Triple.fis or the Shure E500s + a Tomahawk would be schweeet.

no they are supra-aural (they sit on top of your ears)... even though they are somewhat circumaural (rest/put pressure around the ear) for ppl with smaller ears

perhaps you just mixed up your concepts, as very little ppl like supra-aural and a lot search for circumaural

arggg.....I messed up the terms....i meant that i didn't want supra-aural
circumaural is fine (i was rushed =/)
I was thinking of the dt990 + some kind of portable amp combo but...any suggestions would be nice (with the correction)

RSA Hornet ($350) + Beyerdynamic DT150 ($170) = $520. You'll even have $ left over for interconnects & some new tunes

Full bodied? check.

Good bass? check.

Is the amp portable? check.

But the DT150's are circumaural (they rest around the ear, not on the ear). Are you sure you don't mean "not supraaural"?

Hey, if you want more bass, it's worth it to splurg on the HD650!
