Hi, I just recently got a Fiio L1 lineout to use on my 5.5g iPod video, I can't really hear any difference in using it though. When using a lineout aren't you supposed to not be able to change the volume on the player itself? meaning all volume is controlled by the amp. Because when I use the L1 I can still change the volume on the iPod itself.

The line out comes from the bottom and not the HP jack
