Just as the title states. Around a $50 budget. Not sure what to get. Part of me wants another IEM. Another part wants to jump into the headphone thing with something like the Koss PortaPro... :xf_eek:. I tend to lean towards the fun bass heavy sound but open to something like the MEElectronic A151. Not sure which way to go... O_O What would youuuuuuuu do?

Vsonic GR99 or Vsonic GR02 Bass edition, Under $50 and better then most anything in that range.  I even have a GR06 and like the GR02 better.  My GR06 is up for sale for $50+shipping tho:)

Imo the Portapro is not worth getting. I had mine for over 10 years. Now there are much better options. The  JVC HA-S160 Flats headphone is imo much better than the Portapro. The new  JVC HA-FX40 IEM is great. It has great clarity and detail due to it carbon nanotube technology. The new JVC HA-S200 headphone also uses carbon nanotube technology. The JVC HA-FX101 IEM has extra bass and nice sound quality. You could probably get the three  HA-FX40, HA-FX101 and HA-S160 or the two HA-FX40 and HA-S200 and stay within your budget. The HA-S200 is the newest and hardest to find now.

@JK1... Just received both the JVC HA-FX101 and FX HA-FX40 the other day.. Both awesome. Love them :) I'll look into the HA-S160 Flats. Thanks.

@delladood.. Already own those with comply foams and the tape mod for more bass..  :)

@Cassadian/Magicman74.. Looking at Vsonic now. Though this is gonna wanna make me look at and want the GR07....  :xf_eek:

@Brooko.. I mainly use Pandora... :xf_eek:  I do have 250GB of music already though. o_O

Well I decided to stay on the JVC bandwagon since I enjoy both the HA-FX101 and HA-FX40 and choose the HA-S160 Flats and decided to give the HA-S600 a try also. Never really had any nice sounding over the ear headphones before. Can't wait to try them out.. :)

Hahahaha JVC everywhere! How do the flats compare to portapros?

I think the Porta Pros will be next on my list. Out of those in the pic the HA-RX700 is first. HA-S160 second... Not to sure about the HA-S600s yet. They're very bassy but the highs aren't up to par compared to the other two...granted I already modded them both. Still burning the 600's in. :)

JVC flats continue to intrigue me. Hmm....

For the $12 I payed I have not one complaint... They've impressed me. :) Nice thumpy little headphones with great mid and highs.

The JVC Flats HA-S160 has much more neutral sound than the Portapro. It also has much better treble. Even if they were the same price, I would prefer the HA-S160. The Portapro is around 3X the price of the HA-S160. The JVC HA-S600 is rather large. Imo the more compact HA-S650 is much better than the HA-S600.

Imo instead of the Portapro, if you don't want the HA-S160 or HA-S650, then you should consider the Sennheiser PX100II. I have the original PX100 and like it even better than the HA-S160, and almost as much as the HA-S650. The HA-S650 is also warm sounding like the PX100II and Portapro, however it has so much more detail than the Portapro.
I bought my Portapro over 10 years ago.

Another interesting headphone around $50 is the Koss pro DJ100. I don't have this one yet, but might buy it eventually.
I can't believe it is priced so close to the Portapro. It seems like it should be worth at least twice as much as the Portapro.
