Listen to Benighted(their ICON album especially). They are my favorite Deathcore band and they are relatively unknown despite having an citically amazing discography and solid fan base.

But pretty much everyone else is going to say Grado or maybe Beyerdynamic

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 100 headphones for producing/recording but they are 400 ohms so I cant listen to them using a regular mp3 player :frowning2:

Omg, I'm getting totally dinged on the price.

SR325is $339.00 CAD
Sub-Total: $339.00 CAD
Canada Post (Xpresspost): $33.59 CAD
12% HST#85320 3362 RT0001: $40.68 CAD
Total: $413.27 CAD

If I go with a different route by using a company from the US shipping to Canada will I have to pay tax. I honestly never remember having to pay tax. Not to mention the possibility of a 5% duty on top of everything.

This link is what I'm considering going with. http://www.turntablelab.com/dj_equipment/0/0/3537.html

Grado makes their authorized dealers agree to never ship internationally, so that they can mark up the price overseas. But Alessandro has no such restriction. The MS2 may be a better deal than the SR325 for those of us outside the USA.

There are no import duties for headphones in Canada. But you still have to pay regular HST on everything, plus another $10 or so for brokerage. This is collected during delivery. If the item isn't worth too much, CanadaPost may sometimes close one eye and not bother. But $300-$400 is probably too high for that.

If the retailer already collects the Canadian HST, then you should be safe from any extra fees on delivery.

The 325is come with 6.3mm jack. There are convertors though, grago makes them wiht a short cable between it to reduce strain on the jack of the device used..

Just to be sure, I can plug my Grados into my mp3 player out of the box correct?

You make Grado sound like such a evil company lol. Thanks for the recomendation but I have decided that I don't want the neutrality of the alessandros in contast to the SR325is. HST is going to be the death of me :frowning2:

BTW if anyone outside of the US is looking for a pair of Grados in the future, I reccomend http://www.turntablelab.com/. They don't have(or at least follow) the restriction Grado puts on oversea shipments.

Incorrect. You need a convertor. There are numerous but Grado makes these with a cable so the 3.5mm isnt strained too much.
Read my post again.
I have a grado extension cable and can vouch for the build quality, rock solid.

Convertor;

I found my DENON AH-D7000s at a Head-Fi meet. They were used at about $450.00. I know this looks like a Grado thread. All I'm saying is get a chance to listen to the AH-Ds and you may like them for metal. I'm into Morbid Angel,Vader,Judas Priest,Aborym,Belphegor,Naglfar,Pungent Stench,Draconian,Merrimak,W.A.S.P., and they play it all with joy! They really are all I use. They can be powered even by an I-Pod.

Nice links Stitch.... katori shinto and pencak silat...

Thanks, most people go "what ya saying" on both martial arts. Even pencak is relatively unknown around here.
Are you a practioner or just interested?
