I've been a long time grado fan but sold my rs-1's recently to buy some speakers. I just got a quote on some 325i's that were a demo pair with new earcups for $150. I've never heard the 325i's but have read they are somewhat harsh uptop. I've listened to the sr60's a bit and liked what I heard for the price though they sounded a bit conjested and harsh but not at all bad for the price. Do you think I will be dissappointed with the 325's coming from the rs-1's?? Let me know what you guys think

for $150 it's pretty much a no brainer. . .

And if the SR-325i is one of the newer ones with the wider RS-1 headband, the difference in materials and workmanship isn't all that far away from RS-1 other than the metal bits supporting the housings.

If I had MS-Pro(I wish

!)hanging there right next to my MS2i, I would be just as proud of the appearance of each of them!

To my eyes; the looks of the high-tech aluminum is equally as stunning in appearance as that beautiful hand finished wood!

Man those are killer cans, they will grow with your system nicely. For the price I would have picked them without thinkin' 'bout it. I would explain later to the warden at home no problem. The doghouse would be sounding nice with some nice cans

In one word, yes!

If you find the 325i harsh, you may change the bowls to comfies or flats.

$150 is a steal.. SR225s are sold on ttvj for more than that

I've heard the 225, very bass thin, and the RS1 was 'Good'. But for the price, go for it.

What amp and source did you hear the 225's on? I know my MicroAMP was very, very weak in bass and brighter on the top end compared to my EC/SS.

I really dont think it was the amp, I did use my Micro Amp. Coming from the HD650 they sounded like crap.

*chuckle* No Kidding! I suspect that lots of people might say the very same thing going from SR-325i to HD650!

.....my back and forth jump is from the much-more-similar-sounding MS2i to HD600, and even THAT can be a sonic shock if I'm not careful of the material I choose.

Yup; I don't think I'd want to go to an HD-650 thread and say I thought that after my SR-325i; that the HD650 sounded like crap!
