Well, I have gone from hating, to being ok with, to now loving my SR-325i's.
I spent most of my day working on a small CMOY amplifier, and attached to my M-Audio Audiophile, they sound just great (also, being burnt in, whenever not being listened to).
They still are not at the level that I auditioned, since they were on several thousand of dollars worth of boutique amplifiers (actually speaker amplifiers).
It is amazing how much detail I can ascertain that I can't hear in my speaker setup (actively tri-amped 3 way with ribbon tweeter, Vifa premium midrange, and Dayton RS series 10" woofers). I can hear the individual notes on the string bass, and the subtle plucking noises (although I don't really like that sound, I think I will need to get used to it).
Also, turning the earpads inside out made them much more comfortable and better sounding to me, a little less harsh in the high end.
