Muahahahha. Everyone has their own "appreciation" thread so i guess ill start mine.

The 325i has taken some flak for being too harsh and sharp for some, but for me, the 325i if coupled with the right amp ( read - tubed ) sings wonderfully and smoothly, for me, my 325i was never too sibilant or harsh, and the treble sparkles wonderfully. The bass is great as well, tight and refined, Let's not forget the wonderful transients the 325i has.

So any 325i owners care to share their thoughts?

I got the MS-2i's instead as they are a little less on the bright side. Already had decent headphones but I fell for the MS-2s I was loaned so bought the MS-2i's asap.

Give the US a couple more hours and you'll have more responses. Even here in the UK lot's only post when home from work (6.15 pm now).

Well I'll help out in this thread to say the Grado SR325i is my favorite Grado can (I've listened to all but the RS-2) by far. Compared to the silver 325, the highs are less harsh, mids are fantastic, and bass tighter and more controlled. A bit more soundstage due to the wider can as well. An all around great set of headphones which I would recommend to anyone who loves the Grado sound. It's by far the best Grado bang for the buck.

Yes, SR325i is great. I actually like my 325i (re-cabled) over my RS-1.

When I received them, I was struck by how much they differed from the original 325 (silver) in that they were not nearly as bright, to my ears. Yet they still maintained the wonderful Grado midrange. I would place them closer in sound to the RS-1 than to any of the other John Grados I have.
Plus, the gold color and slightly rounded edges are nice touches as well.
Kudos to Mr. Grado!

I also love the 325i sound. My only complaint is they have typical grado comfort. This means that my ears last 1 to 2 hours then I need a prolonged break.

That's as close to a flame as I could come. Never heard the 325i, although I remember the brightness of the 325 well.

Wouldn't incorporating price lower the rating on the value scale? That's what I meant...that combo has to be a 1 on the value scale.

I've had my 325i for a couple of months now, and I love them. I really haven't listened to anything else since. I'm a rock fan, and nothing that I've heard compares to the in-your-face punch of these Grados.

Not sure how they compare to the old 325, but these are not overly bright to me. Maybe because I prefer a bright presentation. Couple that with the bass, and I'm in heaven.

I don't have an issue with Grado comfort, either. I can wear mine for hours on end and I have zero pain/discomfort. This is also while wearing glasses. I'd say my ears are average size and seem to fit entirely inside the bowls, so maybe that's why.

Anyway, I <3 325i.

My value rating does take into account the headphones price. The HE90’s are the best that I have heard. What is being the best worth? If the HE90’s could be had for $2500 I’d rate them an 8 for value. If they could be had for $1250 I’d rate them a 10 for value.

If I found the 325i’s as comfortable as any of the other headphones that I listed their value rating would be around 9. I really like the 325i’s sound quality to price ratio. The comfort issue really knocks them down.

Yeah, but being the best doesn't mean something is necessarily a good value.

If $6,000 plus (I believe that is the price) doesn't knock the value rating below a 6, that's inconceivable to me. You have to look at the other headphones...are they five or six times (or more) better than a $600 headphone? They'd have to be if you're using a comparison scale. That's not even considering the fact that they're one of if not the most expensive headphones in the world.

Heck, even if you aren't using a comparison scale I think a value rating of 6 is hard to defend.
