This sucks.
I've decided to go omega but the silver import one is ugly!
The black one though, I think is drop dead gorgeous and the old champagne one is very nice too.
What would you do? Pay $300 extra to get the one you think is way much better looking or just buy the cheapest one?

I actually prefer the silver one but STAX USA still doesn't carry it; I caved and got the black one.

Sounds like you two need to do a trade!

If these are going to be your primary phones for a long time. Then, in the long run the money is not the greatest thing in the world. I say go with the one that would make you the happiest. If you want the black ones, go for it. I happen to like the champagne, and that is what I got.

good luck, and they are great cans either way.

There are actually 4 different Omega II's.

* SR-007 (Brown / Champagne).
* SR-007BL (Black / Champagne).
* SR-007A (Black / Silver)
* SR-007MK2 (Black / Black).

I would personally take the cheapest one I could get a hold of. Even if I prefer the looks of the SR-007MK2.

As much as I'd like a silver one, I still prefer a 2 year local warranty.

Off the top of my head, changes to the MK2 and A iterations are:

Sheep skin pads
Relocation of wire connection to drivers

There may be a few more I left out.

The difference between the original and SR-007A/II is the following:

Different finish on the housings (had to change it because of ROHS)
A new cable entry similar to the SR-Ω one as the cables failed from time to time
New earpad design and material, again more similar to the SR-Ω.
Thicker padding on the headband
Some changes to the ear chamber but I don't know exactly what they did

If you dont use the character map, then hold Alt and press...

-I'm sure I've got the number right (937), it just isnt working, I get the registered trademark symbol-
