First time posting here, Hello everyone!
So I want to buy a nice pair of open-back headphones, I did a little bit of research and my options would be either Sennheiser HD 598 or Hifiman HE 350, both 100$, 2ND hand.

I talked to the guy selling the 598s , the leather headband looks a little bit cracked, no visible scratches.
And the 350s look great ,no scratches.

Any thoughts about 2ND hand stuff? Like the drivers wearing out or something ?
Anything else for 100$ worth looking at?

Check sellers feedback,if he/ she has a lot of positive feedback and they tell you the HPs are in good shape Id take it.Theyre not going to trash their rep over a 100.00 pair of HPs.

Grado 80e are 99.00 new,great HP for the $

Headphone drivers wear out ? It gonna take 20-30 years to even see that happening. There are speakers and headphones that were made in the 80th and with good keeping, they still work and may be selling for 10k usd....MDR R10 for example

I've been on here since 2009, and have bought plenty of 2nd hand stuff from here. No complaints whatsoever. Most of the folks here take care of their equipment. Best advice would be to ask the seller lots of questions if you have concerns about an item. Sometimes pictures don't tell the whole story. And if you pay with PayPal, you're protected.

He's selling antiques like old cameras, cassettes. No way to check his selling history cuz it's like a meet up and buy site. He agreed to open the package before paying so if anything is wrong I could send them back.

With a bit of luck you can find a used (but condition like new) HD580, HD600 or maybe even a HD650 for around or a bit over 100 bucks. If I were you I'd go this way :)
I have a pair of over 15 year old HD580's and they are like new (well they are being taken care of well).
Best of luck with your headphone journey :)
