2nd hand e2c's?

I want really planning on buying another pair of earphones but someone posted some very cheap e2c's on a forum, they said they would throw out the foams they were using but include the silicon tips, is sanitary to buy 2nd hand IEM's even if they get rid of the tips?

are the e2c's good? i listen to rock mostly anything from radiohead, RHCP to Metallica and Iron Maiden although lately i've been listening to lighter stuff like radiohead etc.
