I'm on a bit of a tight budget right now, but are there any good IEM's for my type of music, which is a lot of rap, a lot of bass, and just everyday music like The Lonely Island, Linkin Park, Britney Spears(hey don't laugh) for $25 or less? But if there are $30 IEM's that have a significant increase of SQ from the $25 ones I might consider them. So basically $30 is the maximum amount I can use from IEM's. I also prefer them to be black and it doesn't need to have noise-canceling features, which I highly doubt $30 IEM's would have, but would be a nice addon.

A lot of bass and under $25 seems to point at the Sennheiser CX250. To my ears, it's a vast improvement over the CX300, providing far better clarity, range, and detail. You may also want to take a look at Meelectronics' M9 and M6. I have a pair of the M9s and I think they're quite good for the price.

Head-Direct RE2. They were a great deal when I got them for $80, and at $30 right now, it's a no brainer. They're black and have good isolation (noise cancellation).

I think I've found the ones I want.

Would there be any other contender for that price? Those look the best compared to all the other ones suggested.

I like the RE2s, but the reason I didn't recommend them is because of their lean bass. Their strengths are excellent clarity, neutrality, and an airy sound. While the bass is certainly of good quality, I feel they may not give the visceral impact you're looking for.

So modding these would produce close to or even better sound than the RE2's and they're about like $15?

Get a set of JVC Marshmallows and do the Kramer mod to them. Mine sound similar to my Klipsch S4's. Got the Marshmallows off ebay for $15, and they're really good for that price.

Hmm, I'm thinking of getting the fx333 now because of how cheap they are and how they'll sound after a simple mod. But I have a question on the mod. Could I skip the second part of the mod? I don't have any foam that is just sitting around lol. How much would the foam cost if I tried to buy it?

i bought the fx33 for $7 shipped on ebay.. but will have to wait for a week or 2 however long it takes to come from overseas, I hope they are real ones but everyone says they are that cheap. lol

Heres the PL-12 SoundMagic PL-12 Earphones - Free Shipping [PL12] - $14.03 : MP4 Nation!, :: Low Priced MP4, MP3 Players and the latest scoop on the newest MP4 Player

heres the mod for em

I think they look better than the fx33. My reason for wanting cheap phones is that I will be using them at school where I occassionally put them on and off and in my pocket so they dont usually last a few months.

PL21! PL21! PL21! Im just gonna storm in every thread about cheap earphones and answer without even thinking...PL21 is always the (or, at least, a) right answer. Seriously. Everybody needs them. Impossible to go wrong. They sure are not the best for every kind of music but they really suprised me. The definition of fun iem. And cheap. And well built.

It's hard to get much for that price but if you're willing to tweak them a little, you can get something that will meet your needs. I bought a pair of JVC Marshmallows at a local Walmart. They were bassy and muddy, but when I tweaked the EQ on my iPod to shiift the presentation brighter (Acoustic, Treble Boost), they sounded remarkably better, even good enough to recommend. Purists will tell you that EQing is the devil, but when you're on a budget that low, you need friends in low places.
