Leif Inge has digitally stretched Beethoven's 9th symphony (without changing the pitch), so that it lasts 24 hours. The result is something closer to ambient music than classical. You can stream or download the entire thing at http://www.notam02.no/9/.

For a little more info, check out a press release on the project: http://www.opsound.org/opsound/press.html.

a friend of mine told me that somebody did something similar recently in stretching Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho to ~20hrs.

i think ~7hrs would be the ideal length to stretch something like this to, but what do i know.

I saw some of that. SOME, of course. As a film/art/photography lover and Hitchcock appreciator it was cool.
