Hi.

Im awaiting delivery of a darkvoice 336i amp. The darkvoice is a 220v unit but UK mains is just a tad higher than that. Where can I find a step down transformer and would it improve the sq and improve reliability?

It really shouldn't matter.
220v gear runs fine on 240v

yep.
Over here I've had some problems stepping 240v down to 115v for US stuff, in the end I almost always make another power supply, but you wouldnt have a problem.

I have seen US listed as 110/120 so there is a little tolerance in their ratings.

As long as you don't stick a US product into a UK plug socket you should be fine.

UK mains voltage is specified at 230V +10%, -6%.Any piece of equipment specified at 220v will be fine.

Interestingly I've meaured the voltage in my house at 246v

Sshh, don't let your supplier know! The way we're being fleeced over here for power they'll charge you for that extra 6V
