I have 2 monitors and one vid card for trade. all items are 2 months old and not really sure I need them. I am looking for an ipod classic 160 and a amp like p51, tomahawk, or pico. Would also consider a nikon dslr like a d5100 or d7000. Monitors retail currently for 329 each and vid card 480.00.

nice setup, but why didn't you use 120hz monitor's, but instead you used 60hz's leds

Brcause unless you are 3d gaming which is pretty sketchy you really dont need 120hz. You will have trouble finding vid cards that will push 120hz in triple monitor and the eye cant see past 35 to 40pfs and 120hz 27" monitor is double to triple the price.

Price drop 900. If for trade will work out cheaper as I need portable amp. I also have an alienware m17x with 2 5870's and raid 320hd's and blue ray that is 2 months old with all boxes and accessories. I would like 1250 obo for that.

the whole point of the higher hertz is the less blur there is on a screen. Sure you can't see more than 30 fps, but the blur causes you to have a headache because the speed of motion blurring everything out i.e most human eyes are not used to that.

what should concern you is the drop in fps from like 70 to 30 when you're running into a giant graphic spike

but I guess you say it's like double or triple the price I can't argue with that, 2 gtx 480's can push them to their best potential. I actually have 1 GTX 480 atm running 2 120hz monitors perfectly fine, no graphic stretches or anything.

also, the hertz matter in game speed also. Rxn speed matters from the hertz so if you fire a gun @ 30 hz the person you shot will receive it .4 seconds slower than one with 120hz = 1x speed not 1.4x speed. It makes a huge difference when you're playing games such as unreal tournament / quake etc. Why do you think most gamers use CRT monitors? The hz isn't capped, actually it's just about 90-120hz

but I understand if you're playing games like WoW it won't make MUCH of a difference but the smoothness will still make enough of a difference for plenty of people to choose higher hz's monitors over standard 60-75

There is not a gamer out there that I know personally that uses crt's still. Your monitor will most of the time work more quickly than your internet connection. I am a fps gamer and our clan competes. And again your blur is more dependent on the vid card running at higher frames than the monitors. As long as you are running at 60fps constantly you will not notice motion blur unless it is written in the code for effects. I have been gaming pfs and building systems since 1997 and seen every step pc gaming has taken. you look at consols and they are at what 35fps and no more. Most oc games out now are ports over from them which sucks. They are designed to play at lower fps. Once 120hz monitors are more affordable then yes more will migrate that way as well as 3d.

On a different note the items are still for sale or trade. Dropped the alienware 17x to 1,000.00. Besides this gear I am also looking for a trumpet.

Alienware M17x10 1453DSB

  3. 640GB RAID 0 (2 x 320GB, 7200RPM SATA Hard Drives); Slot Load Blu-ray Disc (BD) Combo (Reads BD and Writes to DVD/CD)
  4. 17-inch WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 (900p) Display; Dual 1GB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5870 Graphics
  5. Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit)
