2.0 Speakers (via uDAC) for my iMac setup...

I am hoping to get some suggestions for 2.0 speaker setup to be used with an iMac via a uDAC. The reason for the uDAC is because the iMac has only one audio port which is connected to my Astro A30s via their Mixamp. I don't know what Astro's rep is on here, but the A30s were a gift and they work and sound good to me, plus the Mixamp has allowed me to have my PS3 also connected to me A30s w/o having to switch back and forth. My primary use is for movies, tv shows, and gaming on my iMac and in most cases this is done via my headphones. However, there are times I would like to use speakers, but due to the way the iMac is designed I cannot use the "internal speakers" unless I unplug the cable from the audio port.
 
So, what I would like to do is get some decent sounding speakers and connect them to USB via a uDAC. I think I have the uDAC narrowed down by reading up on here, but now just have to decide on the speakers... I would like to limit the cost to around $200, and size is a factor. I am currently considering Audioengine A2, but figured I would see if I could get more/other recommendations.

@ jedolley: the Audioengines sound pretty darn good for the money. If you happened across a really great deal on a pair of Emotiva or Genelec actives, that might be better, but I'd say you'll have trouble finding an active speaker that's better than the Audioengines at that pricepoint. JMO.

If you are looking to save some money on Audioengine Shoreline Music as a pair of open box A2 for $119 and a open box A5+ for $240. Great prices but sold as is.

Alternatively, Audioengine direct sales A2 refurbs for $159 with full warranty.

I decided to go with the Audioengine A2s and got a Schiit Modi DAC, but am thinking I need a different DAC... The Schiit works fine, but I did not due my due diligence in my research and was not aware that I would not be able to control the volume from the Mac itself. So, I think I need to get another DAC with accessible volume control since the A2s control is on the back of the left speaker. Any suggestions for a DAC like this around $100?

That's awesome. I was considering doing refurbished from Audioengine for $135... Do you happen to know if the open box unit would still be eligible for warranty?

According to Shoreline they are not covered under warranty. So it might be worth the extra $25 to get it with warranty from Audioengine.
